I create art to enter a world only I can see, doodling to music, enlarging instinctive lines. It’s where I escape, reflect, and find quiet in

The art I enjoy creating is with pastels; it feels free and fluid. Color is very important to me; it sets the emotional tone…rich purples, deep blues, bright greens. I start with a simple doodle and explore from there. When I draw a woman’s figure, I begin with the eyes, they tell the story, and the carefree movement of the pastels on the paper naturally leads into the form, often the breast. Lately, I’ve started drawing dogs~their purity mirrors the freedom of pastel.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration is all around me. I can look at clouds and see patterns, or wood floors and follow the lines. Music inspires me, the world just stops. I’m also inspired by other artists and art in general, especially older depictions of women. With dogs, it’s their unconditional love and happiness~there’s something so freeing about it that makes me want to capture that feeling.
