Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

i am an artist of all mediums, though my medium of choice is often song. i am a musician. i primarily play jazz but i also love to play and appreciate orchestral/classical music. my main instrument is the tenor saxophone, though i also double on flute and clarinet. I like to sing in my spare time and listen to music all the time, everywhere i go.

Where do you find inspiration?

my indirect inspiration comes from the artists that came before me. in terms of jazz saxophone, i most often get my inspiration from musicians such as Sonny Rollins, Ben Webster, and Coleman Hawkins, just to name a few. for vocal jazz, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Chet baker are the inspirations of mine. in my daily life, my inspiration would be my parents. they are the reason i have the taste that i do now, and they are a big reason i love music so much.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would use 25,000 to build and sustain life for myself while I attend music school in LA this fall, and to kickstart my life as an independent young adult. I would use part of it for school and/or living expenses and invest a decent portion for my future. I have never seen such a large sum at once so it would certainly bring peace to mind as a student of the arts.
