You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love incorporating the figure into my work. I find that this connects us across borders, religions, and Nations. My practice has developed and grown from realist portraiture to a mixed media, multi layered and textured work. It is a fine balance between classical foundations and contemporary expression.
Where do you find inspiration?I honestly believe you can find inspiration anywhere. Sometimes I challenge myself to find the most boring element and create an appealing visual aesthetic. But what never fails to inspire is traveling to different countries and experiencing different cultures. I love meeting artists from all over the world and sharing ideas.
What would you do with $25,000?Although I have years of art making behind me, I am constantly inspired to learn from artists who would challenge me and force me out of my comfort zone. I would invest the money into workshops with several artists of great stature. I also love to teach and share my work and I’m dreaming of creating an artist Residency for people who are struggling to find their artistic voice.
