My creative process is a conversation between photography and painting. I use my camera to freeze the fleeting moments and hidden details that most people overlook, and then I transition to watercolor or oil to bring those textures to life. By merging the precision of a lens with the expressive freedom of paint, I’m able to share a world that is rarely seen on a regular basis.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my creative spark in the wild and the weathered. From the expansive Louisiana sky to the microscopic world of insects, nature informs my entire process. I am inspired by the way ancient oaks stand as silent witnesses to history and how abandoned buildings eventually surrender back to the earth. My work is a tribute to these landscapes, lifestyles, and the vibrant life found in every corner of the outdoors.
What would you do with $25,000?This prize would provide the essential resources to upgrade my photography equipment and explore diverse painting styles, allowing me to build a professional foundation for my work. My ultimate vision is to use this momentum to reach more people who need a creative outlet. By expanding my technical capabilities and my audience, I can transform my passion into a sustainable venture that serves the artistic community.
