Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

Lately I have found myself enjoying the art of printmaking. There are endless textures and patterns to explore with simple every day items. Whether I am crafting stamps from cardboard and string, pressing collected oddities with interesting patterns or plucking leaves from my indoor jungle, I find that each piece develops in such a unique and unexpected way! I love how this process has challenged me to experiment and incorporate various media to create interesting works of art!

Where do you find inspiration?

I have always enjoyed macro photography. Looking at something from a different perspective to reveal details that we otherwise take for granted has always inspired me to zoom in a little closer. In printmaking, specifically with botanicals, I like highlighting the patterns and shapes that nature provides. By bringing together paint, pressure and brush strokes my art offers a new appreciation for things that we encounter every single day.

What would you do with $25,000?

I cannot say with any amount of certainty what I might do with $25,000.00. I can only say that I would want to express gratitude towards my family for their love and support. I could pay off and upgrade my family home to ensure they are able to enjoy their retirement. I could contribute towards medical bills of loved ones. I would just want to see the money used in such a way to help give back and say thank you to those who have helped shape me into the person I am today.
