Creating brings me so much joy when I’m inspired. When I am able to complete something that I love, and it resonates with others, it’s great
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create winter scenes filled with energy and movement using acrylic paint. My art shows the intensity of a hockey game, a quiet day Ice fishing, children sledding, and the traditional dog sled teams used in the North. Anything we do outdoors I love to paint.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the stories I hear from those who have grown up in the Canadian Arctic. From my Mother’s stories about growing up in Tuktoyaktuk, or from the photos I find of living in such cold remote places. The Inuvialuit traditions and culture. I am also inspired by our Canadian hockey teams and sports.
What would you do with $25,000?I would create an art studio, and take an enough time off to focus and create larger pieces and actually have a collection. I could finally have my first art gala in Calgary or Edmonton. Purchase a fancy camera and a really nice printer. My end goal is to have a little cafe/ art studio where kids can come after school and just create art for a few hours like I did growing up in Calgary.
