My work centers on birds as a means of finding joy, peace, and connection with the natural world amid a chaotic contemporary landscape.

I am most passionate about creating small-format oil paintings that celebrate avian life. The richness of oils allows me to honor their beauty in a classic yet contemporary way, which I hope inspires a deeper connection between the viewer and the natural world we are tasked with protecting.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration starts right outside my studio window, where I’m constantly fascinated by the beauty of birds' feather construction, their vibrant to subtle colors, and the way they navigate the world with a mix of fragility and grit. By painting them, I hope to foster an appreciation not only for their subtle shapes and patterns, but for the need to preserve the habitats where they thrive, so that we may continue to enjoy and protect them.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would provide the stability needed to dedicate myself to my art full-time. I would use this support to amplify my role as an artist-advocate by continuing to benefit organizations like the American Bird Conservancy and Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes through art auctions as well as showing at galleries with partnerships, like Protect the Porkies, where my paintings can serve a dual purpose: bringing attention to birds while raising funds for the habitats they call home.
