As a filmmaker, performer & artist I'm making the mundane world marvellous through shared moments of extra-ordinary time. Art saves me.

I create multi-sensory filmic universes using Realistic Confabulation -mixing my real history with wild fictions. Born with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, an invisible and severe illness, I created a new way of knowing, dreaming and storytelling rooted in my experience. My current project Elsewhere is about a fictional 1930s Cabaret Troupe -The Dada Family - who are suspended outside of Linear Time and can be accessed via a Portal. The work explores embodiment and connection through constraints.
Where do you find inspiration? All of my inspiration comes from within. I did not go to art school and I don’t do research. My Ehlers- Danlos syndrome comes with core muscle spasms and cognitive dropout. During these episodes, I create universes to have something to hold onto and live for. I find my stories through improvised performances that I record. A close friend told me that my work was very dada but I know very little about the movement itself- just what serves me.
What would you do with $25,000?I will be holding a three day International Symposium on Creative Accessibility in Contemporary Practice where my current project Elsewhere will be the keynote artistic experience in this relaxed Un-Symposium hosted by creative partner Eric Rose, with my cultural producer Alison Wong. I will use the $25,000 towards paying my team. Because my public art projects have groundbreaking and robust artist and audience accessibility, they are expensive to develop and produce.
