I love looking at a blank canvas and turning it I to something with paint. As an emerging artist I like to experiment with different mediums and materials. Turning thoughts, feelings, or what I see/imagine into a painting is what is most fulfilling to me. I find that my style is ever-changing. I tend to bounce back and forth between an impressionistic style and abstract painting.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration all around me. The everyday, my daily walks, dreams, memories. I find that just being in my studio space gets me in the mood. Being in my studio working ideas will come to me. I am one of those people who stops the car to take a picture because of something I see, I keep a notebook, notes on my phone. I have so many more ideas and thoughts than I do paintings.
What would you do with $25,000?I would love to apply to some art residencies that aren't free. I am sure I would purchase a few more art supplies. (I never seem to have enough, haha) And of course with those new art supplies make more art. Also, I have a dream of having a pop up gallery or traveling gallery for emerging artists. Not sure of the logistics of something like that but it is fun to dream.
