I sketch every morning for an hour. My art brings me peace. I also enjoy experimenting with mixing mediums and the excitement of discovery.

Watercolor, gouache, and oils are my favorite mediums, but I also dabble in pastels and experimenting with pastel over prints. I have developed a technique for applying watercolor over an oil wash, which has amazing results. My subject matter varies from landscape to to faces to old vehicles. My pieces range in size from 5x7 to 24x48.
Where do you find inspiration?I am totally inspired by light and shadow on any object, whether it is a mountain, a face, or an old vehicle. I often capture photos driving down the road. Especially here in the Southwest, there are many art opportunities from old farm equipment and magnificent mountain ranges to small valleys and quaint main streets. I am fascinated by our elderly and love capturing how time has etched into their faces.
What would you do with $25,000?There are areas of the United States I would love to explore, such as the northwest coastlines and the Eastern coastal provinces of Canada. I would hope to use some of this money for such trips, as well as possibly visiting MOMA in New York, or the Louvre in Paris.
