I love to create, period. I love any work that challenges me in its making and refining, but driven consistently from start to finish by the meaning behind it. I love when content drives material selection and technique. The multiple connections through a piece relating back to meaning are deeply satisfying to me.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in connections that were unexpected to me. Usually I find these in nature and society’s tumultuous relationships that find new ways of repeating.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would renovate my home shed to be a functional studio, allowing me to work larger and be more consistent in my practice. Right now I work in a shared studio, where I schedule a few hours here and there, rather than flipping on lights and setting to work at the crack of dawn, until the steam runs out. I’d likely use remaining funds to take another workshop at Anderson Ranch.
