I create art as a survival mechanism. Without it a girl is no one.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create art that has an element of improvisation and exploration within one’s self and mind. Viewers see this in movement and dance. An art form that connects the mind, body, and soul; not just for a single individual but also for communities.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in empathy and cognitive thinking. I find inspiration in emotions and facts. I find inspiration in myself and in my dance family at DC Dance LA. People say inspiration can be found anywhere, but not everyone uses the inspiration given to them. I do. In every I see, hear, feel, experience. I find inspiration in being biracial. But mostly I find inspiration in who I am; a survivor.
What would you do with $25,000?This money would help pay off my school tuition. I am a college student at California State University of Fullerton as a dance major. I never thought I would make it to this level of education. The sole purpose I’m in school is to create my art and get a degree that will help me down the road. One day I hope to have a solid reputation as an artist, as days go one it takes more under your belt to be noticed. The $ would go towards my schooling, as I struggle from time to time to make ends meet.
