I make art using the bones of roadkill animals I find. it’s a way of honoring their lives, nature’s cycles & transience.

I love creating jewelry and wall art pieces out of bones I clean and prepare myself. I also pin insects and incorporate them when I can. I also sew and alter clothes I find secondhand. I really like mixed media artwork because it has no limits.
Where do you find inspiration?I don’t actively seek inspiration, it comes from within. Creation is this intense itch I can’t help but scratch. It’s what makes me feel alive and the most in touch with my true self. Since I work with mostly roadkill, I find a lot of inspiration in death. Death comes in a spectrum of ways. Sometimes I see animals who exude peace and tranquility, while others are frozen in fear. I like honoring those who have found peace, and caring for those who’ve experienced tragedies.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to get a place where I could have a proper studio space. My current living situation is in a tiny cramped apartment, and having my materials all stacked on top of things or underneath my bed slows me down a lot. If I had more space I could leave out my sewing machine and my serger, afford more storage bins for degreasing, get a dermestid beetle colony to help me with decomposition, and have proper organization for my supplies.
