My artistic practice is rooted in traditional landscape painting, cartoon inspired illustrative drawing, textured surfaces and experimental found object sculpture, all of which have informed the aesthetic sensibilities of experimentation with digital media as well. The starkly contrasting visual modes of each body of work I continue to develop in tandem with one another is perhaps what most broadly defines my current practice.
Where do you find inspiration?I am fascinated with paint itself, and beyond conceptual analysis the textural quality that can be obtained through layering over time. I often end up altering, and often destroying layers of a painting before building them back up again.
