I create contemporary oil paintings inspired by the female form somewhat abstracted and exaggerated. My femme figures are portrayed as landscapes, ocean and sunset formations and explores the female form through bold symbolism featuring my “xo butterfly” and “aloha butterfly” series with my femme figures intertwined throughout. They’re very textural with vivid island inspired palettes of orange and ocean blues. Powerful playful compositions that celebrate femininity, nature and transformation.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere!! “I paint how I feel what I do how I see”. I’ll go for a surf and come home and paint in a pure ocean blue palette. A sunset swim will inspire layers of my femme figures in various sunset tones. Yoga dance gymtime and watching the colorful kites and ocean waves. The different florals I see daily in my yard and on walks and the mountains, valleys and cloud formations - femme+butterflies+xo+landscapes+ocean+sunsets+waterlilies+orchids+hibiscus+cherry blossoms+dance+surf+yoga+++
