Photography. Specifically, the kind that finds the moment when a person and a place reveal each other's soul. When light, expression, and environment converge into something true, not just a record of what was there, but a portrait of what it felt like to be alive in that moment.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration lives on the streets themselves. On the faces of people moving through their lives...unguarded, unposed, fully present in a world they're not performing for.
What would you do with $25,000?After health challenges that required me to rebuild from the ground up, this grant would fund the equipment and laptop I need to shoot and edit again, print and mount my first show, and cover marketing to reach an audience. It would also allow me to return to central Mexico, where I lived for years and supported local communities through food and clean water programs, to continue that work through photography that honors the people and places that shaped me.
