What is your favorite type of art to create?

Large mixed media paintings. I use handmade papers to create an underground collage. Then using textures and colors of the papers pushing and pulling the oil paint in and out of the foreground. I also love watercolor painting and working in the pottery studio.

Where do you find inspiration?

For the raging waterfall painting the inspiration was a photograph by my friend Joy Stewart. This painting has been created with the intentions of helping with the mental health crisis in our area. This project was close to my heart because I suffer with depression. I believe it’s crucial that everyone has a chance to get help. This was my submission to Southern NH Medical Center where they were asking artists to create a painting to be used in a fundraiser which they named “Walls of Hope”.

What would you do with $25,000?

Very simply put, I would take my 89 year old mother to Rhodes, Greece where my late father served in the coast guard. Since my father’s death in 2018 she has talked about returning there one last time
