I create art to be the voice of the silenced.

Currently, I’m working with sculpture, I’m creating a ball jointed doll where the physical attributes are added with felted details as if skin to the bone. First, I will cast it in black porcelain as a space figure and felt her giving birth to the earth. Second, I will cast in white porcelain the seasons complete with alternate felted details to rotate. Offering an alternative to having a doll that physically embodies our individual inclinations, by making it an easy transition to a better fit.
Where do you find inspiration?I am often inspired by sacrifice. Classic Loki projecting Asgard, or even a young woman facing a bear to protect her dog. But also by nature, watching the leaves turn colors fall regrow. I like watching the rain, how it pools, drips. People walking. I like reading classic books and playing music I think the author might hear while writing. Sometimes I just look around and I see a need. A wrong that could be easily mended with a creative solution.
What would you do with $25,000?This money could really help me get out of poverty, I would like to continue to work on this project. I have a lot to say because I have a life story to share. This money could be used to help me establish a working studio and help me buy the equipment to I need to accomplish my objectives. This equipment includes kilns, safety gear, and material like the porcelain. This money could help me get my work out to those who need it, for the #transkids that feel they’ve been forgotten.
