I have to create. It’s as vital as breathing. Ideas and images invade every moment of my waking and sleeping states. I simply can’t not.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to work with oils. The space that this material gives me to change and mold my ideas as I create is a beautiful feeling. Mixing in other media to these pieces also excites me. Being able to layer and add to my ideas enables me to showcase objects and thoughts that develop as the piece does. I am constantly pushing myself to learn and play with materials. I never want to stop learning or discovering.
Where do you find inspiration?I’ve always had a fascination with the old stories. Dreams and nightmares. Stepping away from what we expect to see and seeing what could be. My imagination has always been a driving force behind what I feel passionate about presenting to the world. I love to play, this comes through in both the images I create and how I create them.
What would you do with $25,000?First sit down and cry a little. With $25,000 I would develop my space to create. Invest in my own learning and build both my portfolio and ability to focus on creating. This money and opportunity would be life changing for me. To have found a space to showcase my thoughts and work would be phenomenal. I’ve been hoping and looking for the eyeballs that would love these pieces as much as I do. I really do hope that this might be the next step for me.
