I transform rare earth minerals into amulets, totem poles, and life-sized statues of loved ones to create selfless vessels for others.

I create "amulets of memory" from rare minerals I collect from the earth—materials far more valuable than gold. My work ranges from these intimate talismans to life-sized statues and bizarre, otherworldly creations. Following a practice I call "the lacing of the drum," I keep my work "blank of intention," never signing my name so the piece remains a vessel for the owner’s spirit. Operating from a simple dirt road, I find fulfillment in manifesting these objects to connect people to one another.
Where do you find inspiration?Nature and any ability to bridge human connection. But I have a duality, i like to disturb, anything that is really disturbing to the mind that sinks in and changes it in a way that I feel fit, or in a way that I was directed. I find my inspirations from people like andy, warhol, or my native american ojibewa mentor taught me. I work like emily dickinson, utilize, what's around me like Da vinci would have. I find my inspiration from what people really need to see in the moment.
What would you do with $25,000?I will finish my Warhol-style warehouse to teach others how art can solve problems and better the world. Having spent years in this field—from building my own shop to teaching at universities and museums with excellent reviews—I am an autistic savant who is truly ready to take off. This funding allows me to fully commit to the teaching I love and excel at. My extensive work in Michigan minerals, archaeology, and mycology is proven, and I am ready to lead others in creativity.
