Creating art keeps me curious & connected to both my past and the people around me. I love turning nostalgia into something tangible.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love multimedia pieces; I haven’t met a medium that I haven’t wanted to work with. I have a BFA in stage properties and with that degree I had the opportunity to work with many mediums. More recently I’ve been missing woodworking and painting; and have been refinishing and painting guitars.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from my friends and family, and from growing up in rural North Carolina. The flora and fauna of every place I’ve lived or traveled continues to make it’s way into my work. I’m completely inspired by others in their medium of expertise; witnessing people fully in their element.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 to create stability and momentum; I’d pay down my college debt so I can focus fully on my work, then invest in materials and time to build a consistent collection of art. I want to collaborate with other artists, learn new mediums, and grow a sustainable creative practice rooted in community
