I mostly make larger, colorful pattern based paintings using mixed media.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from traditional folk patterns of my country of origin Finland. I zoom into a small detail that I find the most intriguing and create a allover pattern from it. I also find inspiration from colors in my environment, especially in the contemporary culture such a street signs, bilboards and such.
What would you do with $25,000?I’ve been interested in contemporary Australian aboriginal paintings for many years now. I would love to travel to Australia to visit some of the regions where the aboriginal artists work and live and learn about their art and culture.
