I’m passionate about art. Art that makes you think. Art that connects. Art that evokes an emotional response. My hope is to inspire change.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create limited edition Artist Books - books that are itself a work of art. They could be sculptural, an installation or a book that is bound - but they are all handmade, handbound, and sometimes letterpress printed. Through my limited-edition artist books, I explore gender-related issues in India and beyond. Weaving stories that resonate with themes of women’s rights, patriarchy, sexism, and gender inequality.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my cultural heritage and my own lived experiences. My artist books often critique patriarchal traditions in India, so I draw from what I’ve witnessed and navigated firsthand, growing up in a traditional Indian family. These influences continue to shape my perspective. By weaving my personal story into my work, I explore these realities with the aim of sparking dialogue and encouraging change through an intimate, reflective lens.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 award to create my next artist book - my next masterpiece. It would allow me to experiment with new materials and processes, such as investing in a 3D printer to produce an innovative, limited-edition piece—like a 3D-printed book or a 3D printed saree bound as a book. With so many ideas but limited resources, this award money would be transformative. I would be honored to be the next People’s Artist. I have countless stories to tell and books to make.
