Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I am a filmmaker, sound designer, music lover, and overall digital media maker. I write and direct films, make sound art, produce music, and tell stories through all these mediums. I think there’s a link between all artistic types, and I see film as the meeting point of all the arts. Great films contain a bit of everything that all come together to tell an important story, so I love the collaborative nature of it.

Where do you find inspiration?

All around me from the stories I hear people tell, the musical sounds I naturally hear every day, and life’s funny way of teaching you lessons through your journeys. I find meanings in my experiences that make me want to share my findings with the world. I love doing so in recorded mediums because I see them as a time capsule of a moment in history that can never be destroyed.

What would you do with $25,000?

So many things. I’d mainly invest in a communal art space where artists of different mediums can work and collaborate. Primarily I’d use it as a film and recording studio, but I’d have spaces for painters and other visual artists to expand upon their work too. I’d find ways for all these art types to cross roads and create new stories together. Within this space, I’d also fund the feature film I’ve been writing so that I can share that newest story and more with the world.
