Although I love art in all its forms, my project focuses specifically on creating clothing from upcycled denim—transforming that fashion element into something more environmentally conscious while still brimming with personality. The story behind Dua Tua is rooted in everyday inspirations and muses, where each garment is crafted with a specific style, weaving a narrative through fabric, color, and the patience required for the meticulous handwork involved.
Where do you find inspiration?The inspiration for my garments comes from everyday life, from learning about a new topic, or from an experience that has inspired a specific artistic style. But it also comes from denim—this incredible and versatile material allows you to explore different ways of working with it, from voluminous designs to minimalist styles. Many of my pieces depict ancestral or natural scenes, always seeking to inspire a conscious approach to consumption and care for 'Pachamama.'
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in my project, in organizing more exhibitions and workshops where I can connect with more craftspeople and individuals who are seeking to spread the same message of cleansing and healing the planet through art I would also invest in launching a personal project with Dua Tua to create artistic clothing pieces with people with cognitive disabilities and neurodiverse individuals, creating a space for visibility and opportunities for creators to generate income.
