I create art to help myself think, communicate and show others that they can work through challenges because art is powerful.

My favorite type of art to create is primarily 2D colored pencil sketches although I enjoy using materials I am unfamiliar with and working with them until they inevitably become my favorite. This includes acrylic paint, watercolor, colored pencil, ink etc. I initally started as a strictly graphite artist for most of my youth and refused to use anything otherwise until composing an AP portfolio where I challenged myself to only use color. I haven't turned back since.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in impermanence and fine details that aren't always picked up at first sight. Movement in people, the wrinkles, smile lines, crows feet and weathered skin in elder people, the soft textures in skin and different surfaces that have immense texture. Going outside and seeing faces of those who live amongst me can help me formulate different features in proportion, color and detail in their everyday clothing. I find inspiration in natural and man made objects on my daily walks.
What would you do with $25,000?I'm a 1st year in Art school and I know I'm young but I'm optimistic about the future and aspire to make art something everyone can enjoy and seek enjoyment through whether it be their coping mechanism, a way to think and explain their thoughts, or just to have fun. Id use the money to pay off the rest of my college tuition and get a degree to help share art and its magical ways with the future youth.
