Creating art is my survival after a brain condition that changed my life. When I paint, I feel alive, turning memory and emotion in healing.

In my inner journey, I found in contemporary abstract painting a space of expression where memory and emotion transform into gesture, color, and movement. These experiences dissolve into echoes of flowers and landscapes, creating forms that emerge from the invisible and explore the connection between the inner world and what has not yet been felt.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in memory, lived experience, and the emotional transformation. My work is shaped by inner landscapes where fragments of the past emerge as gesture, color and moviment. A deep source is my mother, brazilian woman, who created crochet and handmade work with her hands. Even after losing her sight, she continued through the memory of lines and threads. Her quiet strength lives in my painting, where memory becomes color, gesture, and emotional inheritance.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to support my artistic pratice and the emotional foundations that sustain my life and work. My husband Kevin, is supporting me and I’m so grateful. I am also deeply shaped by my distance from my son Joao Pedro who is in Brazil due to long standing immigration and documentation circumstances. These experiences of care, absence, and resilience are at the core of my painting pratice.
