I create artworks with Seashells and Driftwood that I hand collect from area beaches. I also make infinity shell rose bridal bouquets that light up softly from the inside and the handle is the heart of a Horse conch shell. I also use many broken shells in my work, because like us, there is still beauty through the brokenness. Shelling has always been my passion, my happy place, since I was very young. I find beauty in discovering the beauty within the driftwood every piece is unique in itself.
Where do you find inspiration?My love for shells, driftwood and roses was the drive to create something new in the world of shell creations. My GG Grandmother was a pioneer settler of Ft. Myers Beach in 1924. In the 50s and 60's she would make she crafts to sell to tourists, her name was Lighter. She passed year before I was born in 1969 at 99yo. I know I was given my gift by her, and I cherish it everyday. My Business is called Lighter Works Creations, and it is for all the strong, beautiful women that came before me. ❤️
What would you do with $25,000?First, I would pay off the $15,000 in debt that I've accrued trying to realize my dreams into fruition. Then the rest would go into making as strong as foundation to build from to create a legacy that lives on for many more generations. This will be a platform to get my story out to people still in the darkness of addiction. There is a way out, and I want to be light to help guide others out of that darkness. If you want change...you must First BE that change. For a better World.
