I create art to express my innermost world. Feelings and personality are too complex to be captured by language, so I portray them with art.

Whether it’s a mural or a canvas, I love to add an abstract twist on realism. Incorporating nature, harmonious lines, and bright color schemes is how I create and capture. I don’t try to fit into a certain style category; my goal is to create unique art that is intriguing to look at, not only because of the vibrancy it brings to a space but also because of what it stirs in individuals as viewers.
Where do you find inspiration? The harmonies of nature, the feelings a song brings, and colorful memories are where I draw inspiration from. I don’t believe in capturing one single thing, but more of a feeling or moment. Studying realism through charcoal and pencil allowed me to get where I am today, for it’s the combination of natural/realistic and abstract styles that allows for a deeper atmosphere within the piece of art.
What would you do with $25,000?As a high school senior planning to attend college, tuition can be extremely overwhelming. I plan to attend the College of Design at the University of Minnesota, and can’t wait to see where that experience will take me. The prize money would go to my tuition here, allowing me time to spend on my studies, mural painting, and my independent creations. I hope for a future where art is a celebrated and supportive occupation for all that wish to practice it, our world truly runs on artists!
