My artworks are an extension of my thinking. They depict the questions I have about the world and my place in it.

My current work focuses on the creation of hybrids from human and non-human elements to explore our evolving relationship with all beings on this earth. By embracing the ideas of variety and change, these new collage works allow for a multiplicity of subjects in various stages of transformation and eliminates a hierarchical positioning of subjects. This generative process is central to the practice of collage, but also a hopeful position to view our continued evolution as a species.
Where do you find inspiration?I have found value in asking larger questions across disciplines. My art practice involves examining the posthuman era and the looming climate issues we face, many times finding linkages between the two. By means of research (both traditional and creative) involving the entangled and sprawling problems which have been unleashed on the planet in the Anthropocene, I have found a distinct model for my creative endeavors.
What would you do with $25,000?I have been developing a project which involves examining trees on Cathleen Stone Island as living witnesses to climate, ecological, and human history. Through visual collages, sound, archival research, and scientific fieldwork, the project explores how environmental change can be recorded, interpreted, and shared through creative practice. I would use the $25,000 to further this project.
