What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love surrealism mixed with hype-realism. Salvador Dali, Thomas Hart Benton, and Chuck Close were major artists that defined my style. I fell in love with the colors of Expressionism, how bright the colors can be. The whimsical nature of Dali was always leading me into a happy and thrilling space. I could easily escape to other worlds when my world was difficult, and all of a sudden it was a space of healing. I’d love to share more for how each artist inspires me but I only have 500 letters.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in nature, the behavioral aspects of humanity, the political landscape. I have also been inspired by historial deities that are often portrayed in my work. I’m spiritualist, and so that carries me into a great sense of purpose into my work. I love to create work that goes against the grain of societal norms. Yoni art, drawings on the food industry and how it impacts humanity, animalistic art that forces one to feel emotion. I believe in raising consciousness through color.

What would you do with $25,000?

I came from a Russian orphanage, and I saw what it did to me, and I wanted to show that you can move past trauma. So I want to go to art school to get a masters degree to become an art therapist to children who have been under deeply oppressive experiences. Particularly I want to work with foster care and orphaned children. I think if we are going to heal this country, we must start with the children I don’t know how I’m gonna do it, but I wanna do it so at the very least I need to finish my MA.
