Creating art is a way for me to channel my unconscious part of me to bridge and reach out to my inner child.

From years of practice I have learned that the feel of excitement is important fuel and a necessity to my art. Not 'type' necessarily, but being able to feel that excitement before pursuing is hopefully the key to finding a 'type.' Even with years of practice, I am still working in the process of allowing myself to explore and discover. When I focus on a category, my mind processes as a limited thing, and that has been a difficult answer for me to describe.
Where do you find inspiration? My 'Spotted-Horse' started with a question from a date: 'Do I like horses?' A simple question that stuck with me and found myself reflecting on my childhood excitement for drawing horses, and as I thought about the last time I felt excitement like that, it was back in 2017, when I saw a beautiful illustration of a spotted grey horse on a Hermès scarf at a duty-free shop. That memory reignited the feeling. It wasn't about the image itself but reconnecting to that specific moment of excitement.
What would you do with $25,000?Part of my struggle has been 'not showing up.' I've confronted the fear and doubt that kept me painting quietly and unnoticed. With $25,000, I don't expect immediate results, but I will invest in the process: creating a social platform, producing prints, and participating in artistic events. This funding would also grant me the time and space to fully engage with my work, finally allowing me to step out of the shadows and share my art with the world.
