Art is my way of communicating without words. It is an escape. My way of showing the world beauty, innocence, truth or protest injustice.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art is painting. I love using acrylic as a medium because of its versatility. It dries quickly letting me paint faster, however, if I need more time I use a glazing medium to slow down the drying time, and it helps me create different textures and layers. In painting I find relief from everyday life. It heals my senses by expressing in a visual form using color and images to portray the words that I can't full verbalize. It translates my deep thoughts and feelings.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the mundane every day life, memories, music, travel. I love taking pictures and depicting events that to me are worth replicating. I love to see brush strokes on the canvas or paper. My inspiration is found in those missed moments, the ones we think are natural and miss them because they are so ordinary and common. I love painting innocence and truth because at the end of every story there is a moment of reminisce where you find truth and there is innocence in truth.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would restock my art supply, materials, a Sony Atlas camera, and start my business in art. I would love to be able to become a full time artist, travel and live off my work.
