Marisa Ortiz

At first art was just this ability I have that I was good at but now I love how I can use art today to bring awareness to political issues.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

Im very diverse when it comes to my art and exploring what I like. My main focus is on realism but I like explore making abstract as well as other medium so it’s really hard to pick.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find my inspiration through things I face on a daily basis as a queer Mexican American women living in California. But I also find inspiration in through the culture I was raised within. In the process I hope to inspire others to make a difference in creating a world of equality while exploring the true inequality’s and beauty in the world.

What would you do with $25,000?

If I’m being honest I’m not completely sure how much 25,000 is but I’d probably help my parents with their financial situation as well pay for some of my loans to continue going to school and not only accomplish getting my bachelors but my masters in arts as well as a minor in women studies.
