“Art lets me say things I can’t put into words. It connects me to people, places and moments that matter.”

Large scale public sculpture combining salvaged wood, cast glass, steel, and concrete. I am drawn to the unexpected combinations — materials that shouldn’t belong together finding a powerful harmony. I also work in cast glass fused with found natural materials, creating intimate sculptures that collectors across the US and Europe have sought out. Every piece begins with intuition and ends with something I couldn’t have planned.
Where do you find inspiration? In memory, loss, and resilience. In the grain of a piece of salvaged wood. In the way light moves through cast glass. In the Georgia coastline where I live and work. In the athletes and wrestlers who taught me that the body is both instrument and symbol. In the communities where my public art lives. In my daughters who work alongside me in our garage studio. Inspiration is everywhere — I just have to be still enough to feel it.
What would you do with $25,000?“Develop new ambitious work, invest in new equipment and technology, and create opportunities to involve the next generation in the art making process.”
