its all I've done my entire life, being a little w/a news print pad to going to college for art and then making my way in NYC it is my life.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I don't have a favorite type. I live to explore styles and learning how to work in new mediums, I've done everything from turpentine transfers to encaustic, oils, acrylics and watercolor, which I've devoted the last couple of years to. In may ive been invited to show at the International watercolor masters in the UK (iwm2026.com).So I have no favorite "type" all art is my favorite, especially if it's emotive or I can learn from it.
Where do you find inspiration?Every where I look. I also listen to people. I used to paint backwards, where I'd hear someone on the train or anywhere say something funny or interesting and I would immediately write it down in my sketch book(which goes with me everywhere) and that would be the title of a painting and I'd create the image around the words. but inspiration is all over the place, a building , a park, any body of water etc.etc, you can look for inspiration but it will always find you first if you're open to it.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly I'd pay a few bills to lessen the mental burden. maybe a cheap trip to Europe to take in some masterworks and then I'd really like to fund some art classes here in Harlem where I Live for the under-served community of all ages. perhaps to senior living facility, so many elderly are forgotten or ignored. I don't know for sure but I'd absolutely use some money to help others. I've been very lucky I've been able to sell my work here & there so one must give back. it is essential to share.
