I make art for myself because I feel like it brings me the closest to truth. For me, making art is the only thing in this world worth doing.

I've been focusing on making abstract surreal art through oil painting. I like the idea of having an abstract image but tangible in its composition. It came when thinking about clouds and seeing faces or images even though nothing is there. The idea is to allow interpretations of an image based on one's own reference point. I'll study objects and figures to incorporate their forms and textures to create an implied or suggested image that subverts the viewers expectation while looking at the art.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from nature, looking at clouds and taking road trips. I'll go to museums when I can and try to be open to different techniques from those artists. I also get inspiration from my friends and family, from those that see something in my work and words even when I'm at a complete loss. I had an art teacher in high school that told me to keep creating, no matter what. It was a promise and memory I honor
What would you do with $25,000?Well I do my work in a small 2 bedroom apartment, a lot of supplies I use I've made myself from scratch. I mostly do oil painting via glazing so my transparent colors are varied and stretched out over many years. The main thing I would use the money is for hiring a professional studio to take high quality pictures and invest my works with a good printer for prints. I need to also make an art book with good images that encapsulates my old and current works.
