I create because it helps me slow down, clear my head, and make something meaningful—something others can connect to and feel for a moment.

I love creating landscapes—those quiet, in-between moments where everything feels still for a second. A lot of it comes from time spent outside with my family. Painting helps me slow down and clear my head, and I like leaving a little space in each piece so people can feel something and make it their own.
Where do you find inspiration?A lot of my inspiration comes from real life—being outside, road trips, random views that just stick with me. But honestly, some of it comes from needing a reset. When life feels loud or heavy, I paint. It’s how I process things and slow everything down. From there, it turns into something others can step into and make their own.
What would you do with $25,000?With my recent autoimmune diagnosis, art has become more than painting for me — it’s peace and escape during difficult days. If I were fortunate enough to win, I would use part of the award for an easel and setup that makes creating easier on my body, and part for my family, who has supported and continues to support me through all of this. I simply want to keep creating work that gives others a moment of peace too.
