I love to create art that's raw and either visually or physically tactile. The sensation of closeness and intimate interaction is important to my artistic process. I want people to feel a dynamic connection to my subjects. That is why my favorite subjects are living beings. People deeply desire connection and that is how we find true satisfaction in life and bridge our personal experience to the world beyond.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the world around me and inside me. I look around, and I'm in awe of how beautiful and inspiring my artist friends are, how amazing nature is, how mysteriously my dreams lead me to strange and unfathomable worlds. I simply wish to understand them better by rendering them, which simultaneously allows others to experience them and be inspired as well.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would help me give my community more murals to enrich peoples everyday lives with art and beauty. This money would also help me to publish the San Francisco underground collaborative comics! I've been curating and collaborating on two 60 page books of comics from dozens of local artists that need to be published and shared with the world. It would also fund more community projects and help me bring art to the people and give them purpose and healing.
