There is a place in my head I find solace. Right side of my brain I get into a calming state, I create...the way I see the the world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to draw trees because it's as close to heaven as I can get. However, I also love to paint flowers. I find I love to make things out of what people throw out. I love fashion and decor. I have been making pillows out of burlap and yarns that I knit, embroider onto the burlap. I also make greeting cards from wrappers, wall papers, scraps of papers. I draw on my phone with my finger while I wait in my car. My life is a canvas and I sweep paint across it like a finale in a symphony.
Where do you find inspiration?I have endless things that inspire me...trees, plants, flowers, mountains, clouds, the sky, the ocean and the seasons. The light, how the sun reflects on trees and walls, the shadows that it makes. Music inspires me. I see paintings in music, song after song. Great events are an inspiration while tragedies are too, I want to document them in an art form that is respectful. It is only for me to come to terms with what has happened. Then I place the tragedy in a slot in my brain.
What would you do with $25,000?I hope I could find a permanet place to live. Then I could have a studio.
