I love creating art because it allows me to slow down and truly see the world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is charcoal drawing, especially portraits and animals. I enjoy working with charcoal because of its depth and the way it allows me to explore light and shadow in a very expressive way. I’m particularly drawn to capturing emotion and character, Whether it’s the softness in a child’s face or the strength and detail in an animal. These subjects challenge me to observe closely and bring life into my drawings through contrast and subtle details.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in everyday moments and the details that are often overlooked. I’m especially inspired by human expressions and the natural character of animals, such as a glance, a gesture, or the way light falls on a face. I also find inspiration in the process of observing closely. The more I look, the more I notice, and that naturally leads me to create. Each subject offers something new to understand, which keeps me motivated to keep drawing and improving.
What would you do with $25,000?If I received $25,000, I would invest it in developing my skills and growing as an artist. I would use it to take professional art courses, improve my materials, and dedicate more time to creating a strong portfolio. I would also use part of it to share my work more widely, through exhibitions or by building an online presence, so I can connect with others and continue learning. This support would give me the opportunity to focus on my art more seriously and take the next step in my journey.
