Two master's degrees, a high paying job, I walked away for art. True passion isn't a choice. I chose chaos over comfort. Art wins every time
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating mixed media art — where layers, textures, and unexpected materials come together to tell a story. I draw inspiration from the world around me: the nature, and the events that impacted my life or other people's lives. I explore different techniques and mediums, letting each piece evolve until it matches the vision living in my mind. For me, art is less about perfection and more about the journey of bringing something felt into something seen.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in nature and the world around me. As a Persian American who has witnessed the conflict between these two countries, my art has taken a new direction — channeling my experiences as a female immigrant through these turbulent times. I explore what immigration and war truly mean: the longing, the loss, the resilience, and the search for belonging
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to bring 'Children of War' to life. This project — 27 pieces by a collective of artists — captures the devastating impact of war on children. We have reached out to organizations to exhibit, but without success. With this funding, I would finally give these 27 voices the stage they deserve, sparking the empathy and conversations that every child caught in war needs the world to have.
