Surrealism and Expressionism; I felt that I lived in a world where there was so much gray, depression, and repression that I focused on doing bright and colorful pieces to release the creative energy that I felt was lacking. I actually painted in a wide range of styles, but expression of some and surrealism are my favorites.
Where do you find inspiration?I am an artist that’s been heavily influenced by Gustav Klimt, but I am known for empathy and emotion in my pieces. The micro expressions of worry in the eyes, of hope, of love I am inspired by the idea of capturing those tiny muscles in each face to convey those emotions. It is the large driving force in what I do. Combined with color and passion for making the world, a more beautiful place, especially at this time in our lives.
What would you do with $25,000?I would buy a wonderful easel, a collection of oil paint and then pay off our debts and find a better car loan ?, it would bring peace of mind that we’ve not had in a very long time.
