Just a vessel. It’s something that I just prefer to do. The piece has its own story and commands attention.

Creating lamps has become my passion this time. Each piece is a puzzle that involves several layers of braiding, glass , hand carved cedar wood and Tapa cloth that was made in the Polynesian Islands. Shape and materials guide me to what I create. My focus on color and texture is what gives the art it’s own unique look.
Where do you find inspiration? It’s a combination of experiences and history. Started off young with a strong desire for art. Studying art history, having a terrific teacher who gave me some constructive feedback and other artist that I have great respect for. Polynesian art is a bit more mysterious to me and decided to go in that direction.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly, have no clue. Not giving it much thought to it due to my chances of even winning are very slim.
