If writing is an expression of thoughts. Art is an expression of feelings. I do it to put myself on a canvas, it’s my expressive journal.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Art that comes from a part of me. After I made most of my art, I learned that art you make for others never can reach the height & beauty of art you make for yourself. That’s the philosophy I go into when I create. But on a more literal level, I enjoy chaos & abstraction in art.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from within, I pull from the emotions i’m currently feeling at the time I’m starting the project. I do my best to embrace them and unapologetically throw myself on to the canvas. Because no matter what, I won’t be disappointed, that’s me on there. To me I use it as my version of a journal, throw the feelings onto the canvas and leave them there to be revisited once time has passed. Personally it adds to the reward of the creation. Cause it’s more than just the paint.
What would you do with $25,000?I’m not sure. For me $25,000 is a lot. I’d like to think I’d use it to create more, to begin a project I might not even be ready to start yet. Either something I’ve never done before, or something I’ve already done, but on a bigger scale. I could afford to work less to give myself more time to create. I do like to travel & go on roadtrips. Perhaps i’ll follow in the footsteps of many other artists and paint on the road, places I’ve never seen. It’s an exciting thought. Thanks for considering me!
