Art is my life. Life is a work of art. Each piece takes me on a journey from point A to point B, reminding me the value of dedication.

It is difficult to really find a name for the type of art I like to create. My favorite type of art to create is work that challenges me to grow and push my limits. I’m inspired by Pablo Picasso with his bold risks with Cubism, and Salvador Dali for his detailed surrealism. While I’m most comfortable with acrylic on canvas, I’m always open to experimenting and exploring new ideas and techniques - consistently being inspired by other artists, including my students.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in memories of my past and goals for the future. I’m inspired by artists - both historical and current - as well as my students’ consistency and trust in me as a teacher. Places like Los Angeles, especially with its worn buildings, inspire me. I’m driven by gratitude to be alive, my mother’s passing, and my sobriety since May 5th, 2019. I am inspired by the reminder that I will be gone one day, so why not take the risks that are presented?
What would you do with $25,000?I would put a portion to pay off my student loans, some to fund my retirement, and the rest will fund my solo art business (supplies, business travel, etc). I am hoping to one day have a stable full-time art career where I will be able to assist other artists to continue their passion -“The best help you get is helping others”.
