Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love creating large scale paintings and murals. My process starts with building layered, organic compositions that grow and evolve as I work. At that scale, it stops feeling like just a painting and becomes something you can exist inside I’m driven by creating that experience for other people as much as I am for myself. I try to create art for the little kid version of myself. I wanna make him proud.

Where do you find inspiration?

I’m inspired by nature and being immersed in it. The way organic forms grow, overlap, and evolve influences how I build my work. I’m also super inspired by other artist and their creative process. It’s interesting to me to see all the different ways someone can approach and canvas. I’m constantly blown away by the talent that exists in this world. My best day would be being in nature for the first half, and in a museum for the last. Then coming home and interpreting what I saw.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to create a new body of large paintings and begin developing immersive installations. A portion would go toward materials and studio space, while the rest would support documenting and sharing the process to reach a wider audience. My goal is to create work that fully surrounds the viewer and expands how people experience painting.
