Why do trees love the sun? Art is second nature. I create to explore my curiosity in the world & give a voice to the desire for connection.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I'm often drawn to live theatre and hand-made projects. I like art that's lived through and handled by reckless hands. Painting, sewing, carpentry, and creative writing. Art that celebrates and reflects the humanity of people.
Where do you find inspiration? All forms of life and art tell stories. My curiosity, stubbornly, demands of me to find out what they. I find myself inspired by the character of architecture and nature, discovering the personalities behind materials, as there are stories to be found in the colors of everyday life. Discovering why, when you look into someone's room, you instinctively understand the space looks like theirs? I find that the imprint of human expression through the physical world fascinating.
What would you do with $25,000?I would split the money in supporting my endeavours as well as support my family. They are unwaveringly supportive in my creative pursuits, as they supported my move to New York for college and I would like the opportunity to show my gratitude for all they've done. It's been a rewarding challenge from small town Texas to New York, but I worry I can't stay in the city of dreams as a becoming artist. I would contribute the other half as stability for living expenses as I enter the theatre industry
