I create art to build a strange American myth. Using performance and the body to transform shame, grief, and desire into something tangible.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is performance art,. Live performances with Glory include set design, props, masks, music, and strange smells!
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in horror movies such as Rosemary‘s baby, or the Shining. I also look at romance as an extension of horror as both are often seen as lowbrow, I find them deeply feminist. I consider Glory a sort of “final girl” or “special girl” trope often used in both.
What would you do with $25,000?My goal is to create a short psychological horror film in my home state Texas, starring my heroine, Glory West!
