My cover for Goyaałé’s story: Feather of fire and shadow reflects his past—history shapes us, choices define who we become.

My favorite art to create comes in the form of written words. I enjoy recreating stories from history in ways that bring to light the understanding behind people's actions. What moved them and inspired them to make the choices they made. I feel telling their stories allows others to connect to those legends.
Where do you find inspiration?Within our history is where I find inspiration. Our history is usually only told from the voices of those who won. That however is only one side of the story. To me, that tends to leave out the heart of it all. I want to create historical fiction stories, my form of art, by trying to express who these legends were before the world knew them, display their backstories to explain their paths.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly, as a teacher in Oklahoma, I would want to travel to every state and national park, see all the beautiful and diverse landscapes we have, that would be my first wish, but realistically I live in a trailer camper and I would use the money to pay it off.
